Paris Jackson Slams Michael Jackson Estate Over Biopic Decisions
Paris Jackson, daughter of the late King of Pop Michael Jackson, has publicly criticized the executors of her father’s estate regarding their handling of the upcoming biopic. According to court documents, Paris has been in a long-standing dispute with John Branca and John McClain, who have managed MJ’s estate since his passing in 2009, primarily over financial matters.
Her recent grievances extend to the production decisions of the biopic, *Michael*. Paris expressed concerns about the estate’s involvement, particularly questioning the casting of A-list actor Miles Teller to play Branca himself, deeming it a “peculiar and presumably costly casting decision” with unclear box office returns. She also voiced apprehension about Branca’s lack of film production experience, suggesting it might be the reason for reports of the estate funding “tens of millions of dollars in reshoots” after a settlement agreement prevented the use of substantial pre-shot footage.
Paris described the situation as a “botched production” of a 3.5-hour biopic, noting that the estate has reportedly invested a significant portion, if not all, of the $150 million budget. Her outspoken comments highlight ongoing tensions within the Jackson family regarding the legacy and financial management of Michael Jackson’s vast empire.
